Volunteer at La Mesa Elementary
We love our volunteers! Whether you're helping in the classroom, chaperoning a field trip, assisting with a PTA event, or lending a hand behind the scenes, we're grateful for your support. Before volunteering on campus, Monterey Peninsula Unified School District requires all volunteers to complete a few simple steps.
Step 1: Complete the Required Mandated Reporter Training
Beginning January 1, 2026, California Senate Bill 848 requires many school volunteers who are 18 years or older and interact with students outside the immediate supervision of a parent, guardian, or school employee to complete annual Mandated Reporter Training.
When you finish:
✔ Download your Certificate of Completion.

Step 3: Watch for Any Follow-Up
After you've completed your training and submitted your paperwork, you're all set! If the school or district needs any additional information, someone will contact you directly. Otherwise, simply arrive for your scheduled volunteer opportunity and check in at the school office.
Step 4: Welcome to the Team!
Thank you for giving your time to support the students, teachers, and staff at La Mesa Elementary. We appreciate our amazing volunteers and look forward to having you on campus!
